Mission Statement
The American Red Cross, a humanitarian organization led by volunteers
and guided by its Congressional Charter and the Fundamental Principles
of the International Red Cross Movement, will provide relief to victims
of disasters and help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to
emergencies.
Local Facts
In the past fiscal year, American Red Cross of Southwest Washington
responded to 107 fires, 10 floods and three storm-related incidents;
mobilized relief to 149 families affected by local disasters; collected
24,589 units of blood; trained more than 16,851people in vital
lifesaving and disaster preparedness skills; and provided outreach
programs to 302 members of the Armed Forces and their families. There
were 3,068 volunteers who gave of their time.
Funding — 92% of gifts received go directly into programs.
In additions, donations from 4,373 individuals and 427 corporate donors
helped provide all these services by the your local American Red Cross
with 92% of local donations going to fund local services.
Six County Service Area
Pacific, Wahkiakum, Cowlitz, Clark, Skamania and Klickitat counties in
Washington State with a population of more than 561,000.
